getting hit by a car

im about to make a short and one of the main scenes involves a man getting hit by a car. i'm shooting this in b&w. any suggestions on how i make this look as real and as graphic as possible? [img]graemlins/film.gif[/img]

Do you have to see the actual impact?

You could establish the car approaching the victim, cut away to the driver or a CU of the victims face then cut back to the poor guy sliding off the hood onto the ground.
Shoot in slo mo as well as normal 24fps and inter cut the speeds.

First time I saw this clip I thought it was a stuntman job. Now I am more uncertain.

If you play this movie frame by frame it appears as if the guy is aware of the white car as he watches the other car to "time" it, but the speed is too high to believe it is a calculated stunt I think.

Hoping you are right but in both cases the guys land on their head and the pizza guy is totally lifeless with his arms dragging behind sliding on his head on the tarmac? Last frame.

just show a small dog (or a bystander) off the side of the road and use sound effects. you could even have the dog (or bystander) get spooked a bit. good foley can do wonders for the imagination.

Isn't that first clip from the movie "Meet Joe Black" when Brad Pitt gets slammed by the two cars? I would imagine its not a stunman, but rather digitally rendered.
